Mercedes-Benz G-Class Pre Purchase Inspection
A Mercedes-Benz G-Class on a dealer lot. Shiny paint, and a few things the photos made plain.
A real PPI Auto job on a Mercedes-Benz G-Class. Here is what the inspector looked at, and what the camera caught.
At a glance
- $225 for most cars, pickups and SUVs
- A certified inspector goes to the car
- Photos and a written report, the same day
- Advanced tests, like a compression test, cost extra and only run with your OK
A G-Class costs a lot, so small things add up. The inspector checked the engine, the brakes, the underside and the cabin.
The photos show what turned up. The driver seat bolster is worn and creased. A plastic trim piece under the seat is broken. The brake rotor has rust and a lip on its outer edge. The rear differential cover has crusty corrosion on it.
