In August 2026 Honda extended the warranty on the cylinder head gasket for certain 2018 to 2022 Accords with the 1.5L turbo and certain 2018 to 2022 Accord Hybrids. Honda says the gasket may not seal as well under certain conditions, which can cause overheating, coolant loss and misfires. Coverage runs 10 years from the original date of purchase or 150,000 miles, whichever comes first, and it applies even to salvage or branded titles. If the head or block is warped, the dealer replaces the head or short block as the inspection calls for. Honda planned to start mailing owners in early October 2026. The 2.0L turbo is not on Honda's list.
WE CHECK We check the coolant level and look for signs of coolant loss, scan for misfire codes, watch the temperature gauge on the road test, and work out how much of the 10 year or 150,000 mile coverage is left from the in service date and mileage.

NHTSA opened investigation PE 22-003 in February 2022 after 278 complaints, 107 of them on Accords, that the automatic emergency braking slowed the car hard with nothing in the way on 2018 and 2019 Accords and 2017 to 2019 CR-Vs. The Associated Press reported in April 2024 that NHTSA moved it up to an engineering analysis covering nearly 3 million 2018 to 2022 Accords and 2017 to 2022 CR-Vs. In July 2026 Honda released a free Honda Sensing software update for certain 2018 to 2020 Accords and Accord Hybrids (bulletin 26-091) that changes when and how hard the system slows the car. Honda calls it a product update, not a recall. NHTSA's complaint file shows 351 complaints coded to forward collision avoidance for 2018 and 237 for 2019.
WE CHECK We road test with Honda Sensing turned on, scan the safety system modules for codes, look at the front radar and windshield camera area for damage or poor repairs, and read the records for the 26-091 software update.

NHTSA recall 20V-314 covers certain 2018 and 2019 Accords, and recall 21V-215 expanded it to certain 2019 and 2020 Accords and 2019 Accord Hybrids. Recall 23V-858 expanded both and covers certain Accords and Accord Hybrids across many years. In each case the low pressure fuel pump inside the tank may fail and stall the engine while driving. Dealers replace the fuel pump for free.
WE CHECK We check the VIN for open recalls and road test for hesitation, rough running or stalling.

NHTSA recall 20V-771 covers certain 2018 to 2020 Accord and Accord Hybrid models. A software error can break communication between the body control module and other parts, so the wipers, defroster, rearview camera, exterior lights or power windows may stop working. Dealers update the software for free. Recall 18V-629 covers certain 2018 Accords whose backup camera display may not work right, and dealers reprogram the display audio unit.
WE CHECK We check the VIN for open recalls, then test the wipers, defroster, every exterior light, the power windows and the backup camera.

NHTSA recall 24V-064 covers certain 2020 to 2022 Accords and 2020 and 2021 Accord Hybrids. The front passenger seat weight sensor may crack and short circuit, so the air bag may not turn off when it should. Recall 26V-332, filed in May 2026, expands it to certain 2016 to 2022 Accords and 2017 to 2022 Accord Hybrids. Dealers replace the sensor for free.
WE CHECK We check the VIN for open recalls and watch the passenger air bag indicator with the seat empty and with an adult in it.

NHTSA recall 23V-158 covers certain 2018 and 2019 Accords and Accord Hybrids. A front seat belt buckle part can block the release button so the buckle will not latch. Dealers replace the buttons or buckles as needed. Recall 21V-900 covers certain 2021 Accords and Accord Hybrids whose rear center seat belt may not lock properly for a child seat. Dealers replace that belt assembly.
WE CHECK We check the VIN for open recalls and latch and release every seat belt, including the rear center belt.

Honda extended the warranty on the A/C condenser for certain 2018 to 2020 Accords (bulletin 21-018) and certain Accord Hybrids (bulletin 21-015 lists 2018 to 2021). Honda says the condenser was not made to spec, and corrosion can make tiny holes that leak refrigerant. Coverage is 10 years from the original date of purchase with unlimited miles and passes to later owners. It does not cover damage from road debris, or cars that were ever totaled or carry a salvage or branded title.
WE CHECK We check that the A/C blows cold, look at the condenser behind the grille for oily spots or damage, ask for A/C repair records, and check the title for a salvage or branded history.

NHTSA recall 20V-798 covers certain 2020 Accord Hybrids. The DC-DC converter may shut down and stop the 12 volt battery from charging, which can lead to a loss of drive power. Dealers update the power converter software for free.
WE CHECK We check the VIN for an open recall, scan the hybrid system for stored codes, and test the 12 volt battery.

NHTSA recall 23V-430 covers certain 2022 Accords. A ball valve in the vehicle stability assist modulator may leak brake fluid. That can let the car move when brake hold is on, or make the brake pedal travel farther than expected. Dealers replace the modulator for free.
WE CHECK We check the VIN for an open recall, check the brake fluid level and pedal feel, and test brake hold on the road test.

Honda extended the paint warranty on certain 2018 Accords and Accord Hybrids painted Still Night Pearl or Obsidian Blue Pearl, because paint around the roof seam may peel. Coverage was 7 years from the original date of purchase with no mileage limit, so on most 2018 cars it has now run out. It never covered rock chips, scratches, bird droppings, sap or collision damage.
WE CHECK We look along the roof seams for peeling or repainted areas and note the paint color, so you know whether any coverage could still apply.

- Test wipers, defroster, exterior lights, power windows and the backup camera.
- Check the passenger air bag indicator and latch every seat belt.
- Check that the A/C blows cold and look at the condenser.
- On 2022 cars, check pedal feel and brake hold.
A TSB is a note the maker sends to dealers about a known fix. They are not recalls. We check the bulletins so we know what to look for:
Cold-start noise, drivability, and idle issues for this vehicle. We test for each.
Shift quality and transmission fluid updates. We drive every gear.
Locks, wipers, infotainment, and trim items. Small, but good to know.
Bulletins stay with the maker, so we pull the current list for this exact vehicle during the inspection and tell you what applies.
