Tesla Model 3 Inspection Guide
Battery degradation, screen/MCU, and suspension control arms.
The Model 3 is a strong EV, but the battery and a few build items need checking.
We read battery health and check the parts that wear on these cars.
- Single-motor RWD
- Dual-motor AWD
- Performance AWD
All EV batteries lose range over time. Some lose more than others.
WE CHECK We read state-of-health and compare range to the original rating.
Front upper control arms can wear and clunk.
WE CHECK We listen for clunks and check the front suspension.
Early build quality varied β uneven panels and thin paint.
WE CHECK We check panel fit and paint quality.
The center screen can have issues over time.
WE CHECK We test the screen and software for faults.
A full high-voltage battery failure is rare but very costly.
WE CHECK We scan for high-voltage faults and check charge behavior.
- Read battery state-of-health and range
- Check front suspension for clunks
- Inspect panel fit and paint
- Test the screen and software
A TSB is a note the maker sends to dealers about a known fix. They are not recalls. We check the bulletins so we know what to look for:
Cold-start noise, drivability, and idle issues for this vehicle. We test for each.
Shift quality and transmission fluid updates. We drive every gear.
Locks, wipers, infotainment, and trim items. Small, but good to know.
Counts are pulled from NHTSA's public Manufacturer Communications file. Full bulletins stay with the maker β we use the summaries to guide the inspection.
