What our inspection is, what it is not, and what each of us is responsible for.

What you are buying

A visual and diagnostic inspection of a vehicle at a point in time, by a certified inspector, reported to you. A 125-point checklist, an OBD-II scan including readiness monitors, a road test where the vehicle is drivable, and photographs of what we find.

What an inspection is not

It is not a warranty, a guarantee, or an insurance policy. We do not disassemble the vehicle, remove interior trim, or open sealed assemblies. A fault that is not visible, not audible, and not throwing a code on the day can exist and go unfound.

It is not an appraisal or a statement of what the vehicle is worth, and it is not a title search. We report condition. What you pay is your call.

We are not a party to your purchase. We work for the buyer and take no commission from any seller, dealer or auction — that independence is the point of the service.

Getting access to the vehicle

You are responsible for arranging that we can get to the vehicle and that whoever holds the keys expects us. If we arrive and cannot inspect — no access, no keys, vehicle gone, battery flat — we may charge for the trip.

Scheduling and cancellation

We confirm a time before any work happens and there is no payment on this website. If you need to cancel, call 951-267-8500 as early as you can and we will sort it out.

Liability

If we get something wrong, our liability is limited to what you paid for the inspection. We are not liable for the purchase decision itself, for a repair bill that arrives later, or for what a seller told you.

Nothing here limits liability for anything that cannot lawfully be limited.

Third-party information

Recall, complaint and service-bulletin figures on this site come from the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, and model-guide content describes what is common for a model, not what is true of your specific vehicle. Treat it as background reading. The inspection is what tells you about the car in front of you.

Using this site
