What we collect when you ask us for an inspection, what we do with it, and how to get it deleted.
Plain English, not legal advice. This page is written to be read. Have a lawyer review it before you rely on it.
PPI Auto is the pre-purchase inspection service of Supercanic. When this page says “we” it means both. Our phone number is 951-267-8500 and our website is prepurchaseauto.com.
Only what you type into a request form: your name, phone number, email address, the city or ZIP where the vehicle is, and anything you choose to tell us about the vehicle — year, VIN, engine, seller type and free-text notes.
We also record which page you submitted from, the date and time, your IP address, and your browser’s user-agent string. That is kept as proof of what you agreed to and when. It is not used to profile you.
We do not ask for payment details on this site. We do not sell data, and we do not buy lists.
This site sets no advertising or analytics cookies of its own. Pages load a webfont from Google Fonts and vehicle recall data from the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (nhtsa.gov); those requests reach the servers concerned, and their own policies apply to them.
To answer your request, quote the job, arrange the inspection and send you the report. That is the whole purpose.
If — and only if — you ticked the optional marketing box, we may also send you occasional buying tips and offers. You can stop that at any time and it has no effect on your inspection.
The first tick box on our forms is required, because we cannot answer an inspection request without contacting the person who made it. It covers calls, texts and emails about that request. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text to opt out, or HELP for help.
The second tick box is marketing, it is optional, and it starts unticked. Booking an inspection never requires it.
We store the exact wording you agreed to, along with the time and IP address, so we can show what was consented to rather than just asserting it.
Your submission is passed to our customer relationship system (GoHighLevel) so the team can act on it, and it is served through Netlify, which hosts this site. Both process the data on our behalf.
The inspector assigned to your vehicle sees what they need to do the job. Nobody else does. We do not share your details with the seller, the dealer or the auction house unless you ask us to.
We will hand over information if a court or the law requires it.
Inspection records and the consent record are kept for three years, which covers the period in which a question about an inspection is realistically going to come up. Marketing contacts are kept until you unsubscribe.
Ask us and we will tell you what we hold, correct it, or delete it. Call 951-267-8500 or use the contact form. We do not charge for this and we will not make you jump through hoops.
If you are in California, the CCPA gives you the right to know what we collect, to have it deleted, to correct it, and not to be treated differently for asking. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in the CCPA, so there is no opt-out to give you — there is nothing to opt out of.
This is a service for people buying vehicles. It is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
If we change this page we will change the date at the top. If a change actually affects how we contact you, we will say so on the form itself rather than burying it here.
Questions about any of this? Call 951-267-8500 or use the form on the contact page.
